Extremity Adjustments
Many people believe chiropractic care focuses solely on the spine, but in reality, every joint in the body must be properly aligned and moving correctly to prevent symptoms such as pain, mobility issues, and other dysfunctions.
Dr. Hughes is well-versed in adjusting all subluxated extremities. He adjusts manually, as well as utilizes different tools like the activator and drop table to effectively correct the misalignment. This includes, but is not limited to the following extremities.
-
Shoulders
-
Elbows
-
Wrists
-
Hips
-
Knees

Extremities Serve Both Structural and Neurological Importance
The upper and lower extremities serve both structural and neurological importance. Structurally, if the ankles, knees, and hips are not functioning correctly any treatment to the low/ mid back will be minimized because of the effect gravity has on the human body.
Likewise, if the shoulder girdle is not functioning properly the effect of adjusting the neck and upper back will be minimized.
Neurologically, extremities have a much larger effect on stimulating the opposite side of the brain which could help balance structural integrity. Additionally, nerve entrapment aka paresthesia (numbness, tingling, burning sensation) can develop from the subluxation of an extremity.
